Three More New Bikes To Add To The Line Up

Harley-Davidson® has today announced three new models and we will be unveiling them in dealership at a launch evening on Thursday 20th March. The mid-year release of the retro-cool Low Rider®, nimble SuperLow® 1200T and Street Bob® Special Edition is an extension of the customer-led product-development process that resulted in our new Touring motorcycles launched late last year.

Low Rider®

The iconic Low Rider®returns after a five-year hiatus with timeless custom cruiser styling and enhanced performance. An innovative ergonomic design provides a perfect fit for a broad range of riders.

With a seat height of just 680mm, the Low Rider® still lives up to its name. In addition, Harley-Davidson has leveraged the science of ergonomics to develop a “perfect fit” rider position using three key features: a two-position seat, adjustable handlebar riser and footpegs that are relocated two inches (51mm) forward.

The new Low Rider® responds to rider input; the unrelenting thrust of its Twin Cam 103 powertrain harnessed in an agile Harley-Davidson® Dyna® chassis. Michelin® Scorcher™ tyres are mated with suspension calibrated for all-day comfort and precise handling, while dual-front disc brakes deliver capable stopping power.

A polished headlamp visor and wrinkle black trim are touchstone styling elements from the original Low Rider® model, while ample Genuine Motor Accessories offer endless possibilities for self-expression.

The SuperLow® 1200T is a lighter touring option – a motorcycle that combines a nimble chassis with essential touring features. It weighs in at 53.5kg less than the lightest Harley-Davidson® Big Twin touring motorcycle. Its ergonomics are calibrated to offer riders from 5’1” to 5’7” in height an easy reach to the ground, handlebar and foot controls.

Thanks to the power of a 1200cc Evolution V-Twin engine, the SuperLow® 1200T can run with the pack, while the rear shock absorbers offer easy pre-load adjustment to accommodate the weight of luggage and passenger on the two-up Reduced Reach™ touring seat.

The rider position is three inches forward from the SuperLow®883 to make it easier to place feet flat on the ground and to reach the side stand.

The SuperLow® 1200T features the same easy-handling chassis dynamics originally developed for the SuperLow® 883. Fork angle, wheel sizes and radial tyres were engineered as a package to reduce steering effort and provide responsive handling to help rider and machine glide through corners.Anti-lock Braking System and H-D® Smart Security System with a proximity-based security fob and keyless ignition are also offered as standard equipment.

The finish is premium Harley-Davidson with aluminum wheels, optional two-tone paint scheme and plenty of chrome. A detachable windshield, locking saddlebags and Michelin® Scorcher™ 11T touring tyres are standard equipment, while docking points accommodate detachable accessory racks and backrests for ease of customisation. A new seat and control ergonomics are shaped specifically to give more riders long-distance comfort.

Street Bob®Special Edition

The new Street Bob® Special Edition, a custom model that retains the stripped-down essence of a Big Twin Street Bob, returns for 2014 with a raft of new eye-catching features.

The Street Bob®Special Edition takes rebellious Harley-Davidson®customisation to the max and gets some special treatment with a powerful 1690cc engine, 5-spoke cast wheels, and a unique two-tone paint job with graphics. The added Badlander® two-up saddle, forward controls and drag handlebars give this bobber an even meaner, leaner attitude for riders who appreciate the pure essence of motorcycling.

The new model retains the chopped rear fender, Fat Bob® fuel tank, and blacked-out powertrain.
